Big City Look and Feel

Glens Falls wants to have more of a big city atmosphere while keeping in tune with the "Hometown USA" theme, hence the slogan at the Glens Falls Hospital, "Big City Medicine Hometown Care", (whatever the hell that means). A recent plan being put into action by some genius in the city hall that will hopefully make Glens Falls a more "homeless person friendly" city, may do just that. The plan is called "Big City Look And Feel, With All The Hometown Charm and Appeal."

"Yes we need more homeless people here in Glens Falls", the genius at city hall was quoted as saying, "We want the homeless people from the bigger cities all over the state and all over the country to know that they too can call Glens Falls their hometown. We don't discriminate here in Hometown USA, we want the world to know that we cater to people from all walks of life."

So what is this plan? Well first off there will be more benches placed on the streets of Glens Falls and in City Park, so the homeless can sleep there. But only in the daytime of course, and one foot on the ground at all times. These are the rules just like in the big cities, and the Glens Falls police will be strictly enforcing them.

The next part of the plan includes making metal shopping carts easily accessible for the Homeless people to put all their belongings in and to push them around town. Since it is technically illegal to take shopping carts from supermarket parking lots, (a law that's rarely enforced but a law just the same) a metal shopping cart corral will be placed in a strategic location in Glens Falls so the homeless can get easy access to the carts, and can freely take them and use them without breaking the law.

"Yes the homeless people like their metal shopping carts," a random person from city hall said, "And by golly we're gonna give them those metal shopping carts!"

"This will also create more jobs in this city," another genius from city hall said, "We will hire people to build these metal shopping carts which will have the city's slogan "Hometown USA" printed on each handle, and we will hire people to drive around in trucks and pick up the unused carts that homeless people have abandoned and return them to the corral, or to pick up the carts that are need of repair due to a broken wheel or something, and bring them in for reapairs. Yes this plan is not only good for the city's public image, but it's also good for economic growth as well. It's a win win situation for both the city and the homeless people."

Another part of the plan includes building bigger restrooms at the Crandall Library so the the homeless people can come in and shave and wash up. Part of the current renovations going on at the library include larger restrooms with several stalls and sinks in a couple of the stalls.

"We will let the homeless come in and wash up and shave and do their business at our library," a librarian said, "We want the homeless to know that they are certainly more than welcome here."

Of course the churches will have to do their part. They'll have to hand out lots of blankets to the homeless and start putting on more free meals and set up designated shower times for the homeless. Everybody has got to do their part. But many people are afraid that the city of Glens Falls will be overrun by homeless people, but city hall assures us that this will not be the case. Homeless people will feel welcomed here, but there will be rules that they need to abide by, and in the end Glens Falls will look more like a Big City but will still retain all it's Hometown USA qualities. Hence the slogan, "Big City Look And Feel, With All The Hometown Charm and Appeal."

Yes the homeless people will certainly enjoy living in Hometown USA and experiencing all of it's down home small town charm. This is just the first phase of the plan to give Glens Falls a more "BIG CITY" look and feel. More of the plan will be revealed later on.

Coffee Cup Position Available

During one of my recent stints at the Labor Ready, I was sent to a construction clean up job where I noticed a supervisor? I guess that's what he was anyway, holding onto a coffee cup, and talking on a cell phone, and just basically walking around trying to look important, and so this is where I got the idea for this video. It's weird but it totally makes sense, at least to me anyway.

Do you have what it takes to qualify for this coffee cup position? You might, you just might.

And check this out. These are the letters blogger makes you type in before you can post. They keep getting longer and longer. And even when you type them in correctly, they say you din't, and make you type in another set of letters. Keep up the good work.

In Loving Memory Of Summer Jam

Yes there once was a thing called Summer Jam, and no it was not jam served only in the summertime, it was popular bands playing at the West Mountain ski center, and fire works after, and it was totally free. But those days are over.

I haven't been there since 1999 when Gary Lewis was playing. But since 1999 summer jam has moved to East Field, and is no longer free, it's 2 or 3 bucks a person, to see unknown bands play crappy cover versions of popular songs, or worse yet their own songs they wrote themselves that you've never heard before and never wanted to hear and never want to hear again!

And its' drunks, lots of drunks. Of course that part has never changed, you really can't really enjoy a band unless you are drunk or stoned or a combination of both. But is summer jam really worth attending? Well I haven't been since 1999, but like I say, I went for the bands. Gary Lewis in 1999, Len Berry and Tommy Roe in 1995, but there haven't been any really good bands playing at summer jam in 8 years, So I have no reason to ever go back again.

And don't take my word for it, one woman said Summer jam in Glens Falls, New York is Terrible!

"...It is nothing but a large crowd of drunk people tripping over small children who are running wild. The security was terrible, as were most of the bands. Obvious drug use was rampant....All in all, Summer jam was not only a complete waste of time and money, it could have actually been dangerous. If you happen to be in Glens Falls, NY for Fourth of July, make sure to run screaming from Summer jam at East Field!"

But in memory of summer jam days gone by I dug up my vhs recording of Gary Lewis in 1999, and am doing my best to transfer it to digital, one song at a time.

A Queensbury teenager, Chad Jones, 19, of 28 Hampton Court, was seriously injured and a Gansevoort man, Brad M. Potter, 22, of 84 Spier Falls Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash on Corinth Road Monday night May 28, 2007 in which a car struck a rock outcropping.

This is all a joke man, more or less. It's like someone coming up to you each day and asking, "What's going on in Glens Falls today?" And you respond by saying,"...ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....nothing. The same thing that went on yesterday and the day before that and the day before that, nothing. This is the town all about nothing. So I said let's go with that, and make a blog about Glens Falls, a blog about nothing. But there is something there, there's people, there's buildings, there's parks, but it all adds up to one thing, nothing.

If you still don't get it, I feel sorry for you. So the next time someone asks you what's going on in Glens Falls you'll know what to say,"...ummmmmmmmmmmmm.......

NOTHING!

And yesterday I happened to stop into the Salvation Army for the FREE meal, you get what you pay for, and I spotted a Post Star reporter apparently talking about housing issues. There were a couple people she talked to who actually had legitimate housing issues, but a few others, who shall remain nameless except for their first names, Steve and Dale, just like to talk, and just want someone, anyone, to listen to them as they ramble on incessantly about nothing, and hopefully feel sorry for them. Get real. I think the reporter could easily sniff out the BS, because there was no article printed about it in the Post Star today.

I think immediately upon exiting the Salvation Army the reporter tore out the pages from her notebook and went back to her editor and said, "Sorry but there are no housing issues in Glens Falls, just a bunch of people with sob stories who want someone who hasn't heard it all before, to listen to their story and feel sorry for them, and maybe slip them a few bucks."

Stories such as, "I've spent all my money on beer and cigarettes and getting high and didn't pay my rent this month, and now they want to evict me, can you believe that? Please feel sorry for me ma'am."

Or this classic, "I got hurt years ago, and I can't work, and they are cutting off my disability, and I'm about to lose my house. ~~Even though I work under the table, 7 days a week and collect cans and bottles, I still have no money,~~ Please feel sorry for me."

Or, "I have a fat live in girlfriend, and even though we feed our faces at the soup kitchen everyday, all our money is still spent on feeding her and going out to Burger King and Pizza Hut and McDonald's and Wendy's and Dunkin Donts and the Submarine Shop everyday, and of course I have to buy her stuff like a DVD player and DVD's and big screen tv set, and video games, and I don't have enough money left over to pay rent, please feel sorry for us."

It all amounts to a big fat load of nothing.

Up until yesterday I didn't even know the Post Star had a blog, but they do. And I don't think a lot of other people know about their blog either, because of the severe lack of comments. I stumbled upon it yesterday completely by accident when I saw the YouTube and Glens Falls: They’re all over each other headline in my Google Blog search for Glens Falls rss feed which I monitor daily. As far as I know there is no way to access it from the front page of the Post Star, I mean there might be a way to access it, but the navigation on their site is terrible, so who knows.

Roundabout Promises To Be Alot Of Fun!

The New Roundabout promises to be more fun than a carnival ride! Hopefully. For the opening ceremony on Sunday there'll be bagpipes and antique cars and a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a trolley doing donuts in the roundabout, a parade, and the Mayor giving a long boring speech. Fun for everybody! But just like any carnival ride there will be some rules:

The city is apparently anticipating a lot of people approaching the roundabout slowly in their vehicles, stopping before entering the roundabout, and getting out of their vehicles and scratching their heads and wondering what do I do? What do I do?

I say come on man, people are not that dumb, are they? The roundabout may not be much to look at, but it certainly doesn't look hard to navigate. Do we really need rules? Just drive your car into the circle and exit on your street, it's not rocket science. I guess the city is afraid that cars will enter the roundabout and get trapped in there, going round in round for hours until they run out of gas.

But I'll be trying the roundabout out this weekend. It should be fun. And to prove how much fun it is I'll be driving around it about 10 times or so, just to test it out. I should get a video of that. But anyway, if you want to give the new roundabout a whirl, the ride opens Sunday after 3pm. Be there or be a square!

Hurry! Hurry! Drive right up and ride the roundabout, fun for all ages.

One quote about my latest video says: "Crandall Library is Now Closed in Glens Falls … and mass panic has ensued, which has three minutes, 28 seconds mostly of Doctor72 in his car, showing off his cynicism."

I wouldn't exactly call it cynicism really, I was just stating the fact that the library had closed and I and hundreds of other people had no where to go to sit and read anymore. As for me, I was sitting in my car each day in the park reading, and even though the library is now open again at its new location, I still haven't found a comfortable spot to sit and read, so it's back to the park once more. And also I made reference to the fact that the media was all over the story of the closing of the library like it was the story of the century. But it's still good to get "some kind of mention", honorable or not.

...and those easter travelers turned out to be EVANESCENCE concert goers, my mistake.

Now if you really want cynicism, this is cynicism! ...at its best!

The Earl Shewell Collection Is Now Up For Sale!

For those of you who don't know Earl, Earl L. Shewell is the 48 year old man who lives at the flop house on 22 Broad Street, in Glens Falls. He was arrested late Wednesday for fighting with a man on the front porch, and the man fell off the porch and suffered a broken arm and a head injury that required stitches.

Earl was charged with second degree assault a felony, and the misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest when he fought with arresting officers and had to be zapped with the old Taser gun. Earl was sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

Now for those of us who know Earl Shewell, we knew him as the black cowboy hat wearing, dark sunglasses wearing, black socks with sandals wearing, cigar smoking man. But Old Earl won't be needing these items in jail, and besides that he needs the money for bail, and every little bit helps, so...

Your Reprieve Is Almost Here

Yes your reprieve from boredom is almost here. The Crandall Library is going to reopen on Tuesday April 24 After long hours of sitting in the car in Crandall Park reading books, I'll finally be able to sit in the library once again at it's new location.

After mass panic ensued on April 1st when the library closed, our wait is now over. It's been 3 long weeks, but the end is almost here. Besides that I have 2 library books I want to return. One is due next week.

I had made mention in my Video Of Mass Panic! that I had noticed that the traffic in Glens Falls had been increasing, and that video was filmed on Thursday, April 5. So what I thought might have been Easter travelers, was more likely people going to the EVANESCENCE concert at the Glens Falls Civic Center that same night.

And apparently a few people,(check the comments at the bottom of the article), thought Amy Lee was lip syncing

Where the hell did that come from? Nowhere in the article was there any mention of lip syncing, so one can only assume from people who were there, that there was an element of lip syncing going on.

I wasn't there so I don't care, but my point is...

...I have got to start keeping up with current events in Glens Falls, they are so far and few in between, it shouldn't be too hard to do!

Well don't feel bad, either do I. Kimberly A. Wright, 21, was charged at 12:03 a.m. with, you guessed it, DWI even though her blood-alcohol content was found to be 0.07 percent, below the 0.08 percent threshold for driving while intoxicated.

But she was still charged with DWI based on Glens Falls Police Sgt. John Winchell's observations of her behavior, authorities said.

The Shamrock Shake Recipe

I had said that there were No Shamrock Shakes in Glens Falls, and technically that is true, simply because there is no McDonald's here in Glens Falls, but as I was ordering in a nearby McDonald's, I happened to notice that the Shamrock Shake was on the menu. They didn't make any effort to advertise these things this year, I guess they just naturally assumed that people would know about them. Not! I forgot all about them, until I saw a video about them.

Poor advertising on McDonald's part. But what I'm leading up to is this. If you've never tried a Shamrock Shake before, or are simply craving one, the recipe is really simple. I found this copycat recipe.

For one serving:

1 cup vanilla ice cream or soy ice cream
5/8 cup 2% low-fat milk or soy milk
1/8 teaspoon mint extract
4 drops green food coloring

But I've simplified the recipe even further, by using 1 cup of of mint ice cream, and 5/8 cup of milk. And that's it. It's mint flavored and green colored already.

So screw McDonald's and just make the shake yourself. And enjoy it anytime of year, not just on Saint Patrick's Day.

Now that the Crandall Library has closed it's doors for a few weeks, a lot of people are left wondering, what do we do now that the library is closed?

One man was reported as saying,"Every night when I get out of work, I immediately head over to the crandall library for a few hours until closing time. The only other alternative would be to go home to my wife, Agnes."

The reporter said,"Damn! You don't want to do that, man!"

And the man responded as saying, "No I don't want to do that, but what else can I do? What else can I do? I mean I could go to a bar and drink, but Agnes would smell alcohol on my breath, and there would be hell to pay when I got home. She'd accuse me of picking up some floosy in the bar, and she'd never let me hear the end of it."

And the reporter said, "That's a shame. It really is."

One woman was reported as saying, "You know the Crandall library is my only solace from my husband and three kids. Without the library I'd have to go home and make dinner for my family, and then have unfulfilled sex with my husband. But at the library, I can sit for hours and hours, reading sappy romance novels, and when I leave here at 9pm, and go home, my husband is usually asleep and the kids are all in bed. But now, I feel like my whole world is falling apart!"

And the report responded, "I feel your pain ma'am, I feel your pain."

But all hope is not lost however, there are other libraries you can go to, and as soon as I get the hours for each library, I'll be posting them here.

Only In Glens Falls Baby...

Only in Glens Falls can you get arrested for DWI (Driving while intoxicated) with a BAC of 0.07 percent. It's true. I did a search on Google news for 0.07 percent DWI and the only results of arrests being made are in Glens Falls. Is this just one more reason for you to stay away? You bet!

But I can't really see how they keep getting away with this. Sharon E. Liscum was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and was found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine, and even though her blood alcohol content was found to be 0.07 percent, combined with the effects of cocaine she was deemed intoxicated?, Sgt. John Winchell said.

Wrong! Intoxication only pertains to blood alcohol content level. Intoxication from alcohol. When you blow a 0.07 percent you are sober baby, you are below the 0.08 limit! Case closed. This woman needs to hire a good lawyer. And you need to stay clear of Glens Falls, that toddling town!

The Crandall Library is relocating. That doesn't sound like big news, but it is for Glens Falls! So big, they had to make a news video about it, interviewing random ~~nobodys~~ people out in front of the library asking, what do you think of the library moving, and closing down for 3 weeks. and what do you think about the renovations intended for the old library building, and how will this impact your life?

Big news, really big news for Glens Falls. The library will close April 1st, and reopen April 23. The library is our number one source for entertainment in Glens Falls, what will we do while we are waiting? Go to another library of course.

Brad Delp - Suicide Never Really Solves Anything.

I don't know if Brad Delp was as nice a guy as people say he was. But ...Amy Hoffer, marketing director at the Glens Falls Civic Center, got to meet members of Boston when they played a show in Glens Falls a few years back. She called Brad Delp "the nicest rock star" she had ever met...

But I did enjoy a few of Boston's songs, even though I was never a huge fan of theirs, and as I suspected Boston had been playing in small clubs since the 80's.

But in the end suicide never really solves anything. Someone should of been able to Recognize the Signs of Suicide , but I guess that's all water under the bridge now.

"He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers,” the family said in a statement relayed by police Wednesday. “He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."

So TechCrunch says they get about 15,000 spam comments each day. But what they don't say is how many of those so called spam comments and spam trackbacks, are actually legitimate comments and trackbacks.

I know that the article I wrote yesterday on Who needs file sharing? used a trackback to this article on TechCrunch, but the trackback never appeared on their site. The overactive spam filter they use must have classified it as spam. How many other innocent comments and trackbacks are being classified as spam? Probably a lot. But that's what happens when you allow computer technology to monitor your comments and trackbacks.

A Lake George man sued over downloaded music. Noah Wells is among the 19 New Yorkers and 75 Americans targeted in the latest crackdown on illegal file-sharing. Wells was cited for downloading 10 songs -- by N Sync, Collective Soul, Don Henley, the Outfield, Billy Idol, U2, Def Leppard, Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz and Eve. Not just downloading, but distributing them as well, through file sharing programs such as eDonkey, Bearshare, and Kazaa, and LimeWire.

Liz Kennedy, a spokeswoman for RIAA, said that under the U.S. Copyright Law, damages call for $750 per work stolen, with a maximum fine of $150,000.

If it were illegal to download songs off the internet, we'd all be in trouble, but of course what they're referring to is file sharing, downloading and redistributing songs without permission.

Bu I have found a better way of finding new music and sharing it with friends, and it's not illegal, and it's free. One of those sites I use frequently use is Finetune.com. I have one play list for Classic Country Music. I intend on making more later. But making a play list is a little difficult, because you have to have 45 songs in your play list before you can hear the full version of each song, otherwise you can only hear 30 seconds of each song before your play list is complete. Also each play list can only include 3 songs from 15 different artists. But all that aside, I like Finetune.com., and plan on using it more often.

Yes I remember the Shamrock Shake, but no I never had a Shamrock Shake, because I don't really like milkshakes. These shamrock shakes usually appear this time each year at McDonald's in honor of Saint Patrick's Day. But I don't think you'll be able to find one in Glens Falls. Why? For one, Glens Falls doesn't have a McDonald's, Burger King yes, McDonald's no. Second I don't believe that the Shamrock Shake is actually available at any of the McDonald's in this area, at least I haven't seen them being advertised.

So if you are coming to Glens Falls in search of a McDonald's or a Shamrock Shake, you won't find neither, so just stay away man, look elsewhere!

A Hudson Falls Teen was charged with DWI early today, with a blood alcohol content of .07 percent, which means that he was sober, not intoxicated, but Craig M. Manney, 18, of 111 Maple Street was still charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, go figure. i'm sick of reading about people getting arrested for drunk driving when they aren't even drunk!

Drunk Drivers Do It Again

Those crazy wacky drunk drivers are at it again. Since today is the beginning of the week here in Glens Falls, I usually like to give honorable mention to the first drunk drivers of the week. And it just so happens there were two arrested for DWI again this week.

First up we have Meagan A. Wells, 22, of Regency Park North, Queensbury who was arrested at approximately 2:45am today by Glens Falls Police Officer Tony Lydon who caught her veering out of her lane at the intersections of South St. and Broad. She had a whopping BAC of .09 percent. If she'd just waited a few minutes longer, for her BAC to drop below .08 she might have been charged with felony DWI. She was also ticketed for improper lane usage, of course, we can't overlook that, and she was released on her own recognizance.

Next up we have Harold R. Clothier Jr., 39, of 16 Rabideau Lane, Hudson Falls who was arrested at 4:15 a.m. today also by Tony Lydon who spotted him driving through the intersection of Warren and Glen streets, the heart of Glens Falls, without his headlights on. With all the damn fog last night, headlights didn't make much difference anyway, on or off. His BAC was .13 percent and he also was charged with the misdemeanor of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and was released on $100 bail.

I guess they don't want to keep drunk drivers in jail, they just want their drivers licenses suspended.

Visiting A City For The First Time

Well when traveling to a new city for the first time, whether it be Glens Falls or Daytona Beach, or Newport News, or any city for that matter, you want to immediately know where everything is.

You want to locate the supermarkets, namely the Walmart Supercenter, and you want to know what restaurants to eat at, and where the local library is, ect. The first thing I do is when I check into my motel room, is I immediately look through the yellow pages of the telephone book, you can usually find everything you need in there. But once you find the places you are looking for, you need to know how to get to them, and a lot of phone books do not provide a road map. So you will need to locate the nearest drug store and get a detailed road map of the city, these things have saved my life many times over.

And once you locate the local library you can go online and search for local restaurants with the wheel of food, or you can use the ultimate yellow pages, to look up businesses, and you can use online maps to locate addresses, and get directions.

And you can also pick up a local newspaper, or a free local community publication, to find out what is going on in the city.

Remember these tips work anywhere, not just in Glens Falls.

A Glens Falls Man, Scott B. Singletary, was charged with felony DWI with a blood-alcohol content of 0.07 percent, below the 0.08 threshold for driving while intoxicated. A crack pipe was also found in his car and he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Now I may not be a lawyer, but I don't believe you can charge someone with a felony driving while intoxicated charge, when a person has a BAC of .07 percent, because well the person has to be intoxicated first, right? DUI yes, but felony DWI, I think not. The Glens Falls police do it again!

First Drunks Of The Week!

So today is the first day of the week in Glens Falls on the social calendar, as I explained last week. And I have to give honorable mention to a couple people.

First drunk drivers of the week:
There were two drunk drivers stopped and charged at about the same time. The first honorable mention goes to Angela M. Lowery, 26, of 18.5 Wall Street, Hudson Falls. 18.5? That's an odd house number isn't it? She drove into a few snowbanks on Elm Street, with a whopping blood-alcohol content of 0.17 percent, nearly double the 0.08 percent threshold for driving while intoxicated, the article said. Excuse me, but .17 is more than double.

She also was charged with driving without a license and giving the cops a phony name, as if that would do any good, and failure to keep right. Cops said she was carrying $1,300 bucks when she was arrested, and was easily able to post the $500 bail. Did the judge know she was carrying 1300 dollars? If he did why didn't he set the bail at 1300 dollars, that's how small town judges operate isn't it?

But congratulations Angela, great job, keep up the good work!

Next up we have Michael L. Kelly, 25, of 48 Hidden Hills Drive, Queensbury, who forgot to use his little old blinker light when turning at the intersection of Broad and Staple streets. Damn! And he almost got away! With a BAC of 0.15 percent, he was charged with misdemeanor DWI and ticketed for failing to use a signal, and was released pending prosecution. Man that failure to use a turn signal charge has got to hurt.

Sorry, False Alarm, Evacuation Of Glens Falls Cancelled

Ok so maybe my command to evacuate Glens Falls yesterday was a bit premature. But do you really need an excuse to leave Glens Falls? I mean even if you do need an excuse to leave good old hometown USA, at the first mention of a severe weather alert, you should be packing up all your belongings and heading south, but most people would never do that. They'd literally have to be dragged from their homes kicking and screaming, some of them, even if there was no heat, and their roof had collapsed, and they were having a heart attack from shoveling snow out of their living rooms, would simply refuse to leave.

Why? I'm not sure, but I've always tried to remain mobile, ready to pick up and move at a moments notice. I may have stayed too long in the Glens Falls area, and can't seem to find a legitimate reason why I should relocate. But at the first mention of a Severe Weather Alert, with massive amounts of life threatening white stuff, (no not cocaine), I'm talking about snow, is enough reason for me to leave, I don't need to be told to evacuate. I issue my own command to evacuate, and I evacuate! Heading for points down south, the further south the better, the further from Glens Falls, the better.

But alas I didn't go. Why? Because I knew there was no mass quantities of snow on the way. I fell back on my weather prediction skills from 20 years ago that I learned when I was 13 years old. And my weather predicting instinct told me that since the high temperature for today was predicted to be around 40 degrees, well above the freezing point of 32 degrees, that there could not be any snow, only rain.

But in order to save face, and say ,"Snow?, What Snow? We never predicted any snow?", some of the weathermen have decided to delete some of their hasty weather predictions from their blogs, like Noah Francis, who had this entry on his blog, this is a screen capture as the original post, is no longer findable:

DiLorenzo Please Stop

In case you don't remember, or simply don't know, Raymond DiLorenzo is the Glens Falls man convicted of killing his estranged wife on February 20 2005. All he apparently remembers about that day is drinking a glass of orange juice at his apartment, but apparently doesn't remember driving to Cumberland Farms, pulling out a shot gun and shooting his estranged wife three times in the face as she sat in her car, while their 13-year-old daughter watched. What was in that orange juice anyway?

But later he must have realized that he did something wrong, because he was seen hitchhiking south on the northway, then west on the thruway and he was later arrested at a rescue mission in Syracuse New York. It took only four hours for a Warren County grand jury to hand up a five-count indictment against DiLorenzo. DiLorenzo's defense team had considered an insanity plea, but after a psychiatric evaluation, DiLorenzo was found competent, and he eventually pleaded guilty and received 25 years to life in prison for second degree murder.

But now old Raymond wants to take back his guilty plea and is appealing his sentence and conviction. DiLorenzo claims he wasn't given all his options before he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. His lawyers say DiLorenzo would have pleaded differently if he had known all of his options, which could've meant a lesser sentence.

I guess after the symptoms of remorse wore off, old Ray has decided that he doesn't want to spend time in prison anymore. I guess he believes he is reformed and has served his time. But all I have to say is this, "Raymond DiLorenzo, Please Stop Already. Stop Trying to take back your guilty plea. You knew what you were doing, you weren't in a state of temporary amnesia, you did what you did and thought maybe you could get away with it, but you didn't. This wasn't an accident, it was deliberate, and since there is no death penalty in this state, I'd say you got off pretty easy with 25 years to life. Just accept your sentence and make the best of the rest of your life. And stop trying to appeal!"

Police: Glens Falls Man hit girlfriend with beer bottle during argument about phone

Apparently Jarod M. Wilcox, 25, of 31 Union St., was charged with 2nd degree assault and 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies?, for allegedly hitting his girlfriend on the elbow with a beer bottle. Ow! I bet that left a black and blue mark.

But since when is a beer bottle a weapon? He didn't even break it and try to stab her with it, just whacked her on the elbow, (Ow! I feel her pain, I really do), because apparently she was looking over his address book and/or his list of incoming or outgoing calls on his cell phone, probably looking for possible potential girlfriends of his. According to Capt. Kevin Conine, she was looking through "electronic information" in his cell phone. Ok, whatever you say, Capt. Kevin, but we all know how women are, and we know what she was looking for, and she might have even deserved to be whacked by the beer bottle, for all we know. But then at the bottom of the article, almost as an afterthought, Capt. Kevin said, "He was also accused of striking and choking her."

Now I may not have all the facts in this case, and I may not be the most intelligent man in the world, but I think this is where the felony lies. Now it doesn't say where Jarod struck her, but doesn't choking someone count as attempted murder? Yes, in my book it does, you don't just choke someone for the hell of it, when you choke someone you're trying to strangle that person, so in my opinion herein lies the felony charge, not a little whack on the arm with a beer bottle. And why would the judge go along with this felony beer bottle whacking charge anyway? Makes you wonder doesn't it.

So what lesson have we learned here today? Well let me ask you this, If a crime is committed against you or someone else in Glens Falls who do you call:

But at the end of a grueling 8 hour shift, (sometimes more, sometimes less) you will immediately see the fruits of your labor. Work today, get paid today! That's right you will automatically get paid at the end of each day. And not all the jobs are dirty jobs, thee are some jobs that pay a decent amount of money and are actually clean, and some jobs will actually give you free food!

You gotta walk into labor ready and ask questions, don't just take any old job. Leave the low paying dirty jobs for all the drunks and drug addicts, who will gladly take any job for any amount of money, and will gladly rejoice in it, usually all night long at one bar or another, guzzling cheap headache inducing swill, or piss water as I like to call it. Ok One More Reason Not To Come To Glens Falls

Ok so the coffee cup has dropped, at Stewart's Shops that is. This controversial video has put me on their top 10 most hated list, apparently, maybe even number 1!

It all started quite awhile ago in the shop on Glen Street, not The Shop on Main Street, almost a year ago, when I inadvertently made a remark to one of the off duty employees that the coffee wasn't quite up to par that night, which it wasn't, I dumped mine down the sink, which then led to a confrontation with the manager, so the very next day I went out and made this video, above. Demonstrating exactly how I felt about Stewarts.

Then some 6 months later in October 2006, I had to speak to the district manager of Stewarts, who said he was "concerned" about the "Controversial Video" I made 6 months ago. Yadda Yadda Yadda, and to make a long story short I said i wouldn't do no more videos bad mouthing the Stewarts Shops, or their coffee, especially their coffee, don't ever say anything BAD about their Coffee! And I said I would behave myself, and be a good little boy, and limit my visits to 10 minutes or less. And I thought maybe that was the end of it, but it wasn't.

Some time later, last night as a matter of fact, I was sitting in Stewarts on Ridge Street, after severing all connections with the shop on Glen Street back in October, minding my own business, eating my hot dog, when the manager walks over and tells me that the District Manager and apparently all the managers from all 4 Stewarts Shops in Glens Falls "prefer" that I don't come in there anymore. Apparently my money is no good there anymore.

And apparently my picture has been faxed to all the Stewarts Shops in New York and possibly Vermont, and posted somewhere in their stores, warning all of them just how dangerous I am.

This is one more reason for me to dislike glens falls, and one more reason for you to stay away!

Ok So Glens Falls Sucks

This video pretty much captures the essence of Glens Falls. There is nothing here to see, period.

This city? I use the term city very loosely, was once billed Hometown USA by Look Magazine in 1944, and has long outlived that title. All 5 movie theaters The Rialto, The Empire, The State, The Paramount, The Park Street Theater, were all torn down or closed years ago. Why? No one really knows, or no one will say, I guess it was all part of their urban renewal project, that started in the late 60's and early 70's that led to the tearing down of many businesses and homes, but it did give us the notorious Henry Hudson Town Houses. Yah!

But tourists keep coming to this area by the hundreds if not thousands during the summer, and I've always wondered why. I think the reason is, is that they are on their way to someplace else. Since Glens Falls NY, is on route 9, people are simply passing through, on their way to better places. So Glens Falls is pretty much just a glorified rest stop for tourists. Which should be its new name, "Your Rest Stop While On Your Way To Better Places"

There really is nothing here to see, so if you're passing by, just keep on passing by, don't stop, for too long anyway, you might just get stuck here.

Hometown USA? Even the Mayor Thinks That's funny.
